Connect Search Console & GA4

How to grant the right permissions, what we pull from each source, and what to do if the OAuth flow fails.

Connecting Search Console and Google Analytics 4 unlocks two things: automatic keyword discovery (no manual seeding) and the ability to correlate rank changes against real traffic + conversion shifts. Both are optional, both are recommended.

Connecting Google Search Console

  1. Go to Integrations → Google Search Console.
  2. Click "Connect" and sign in with the Google account that owns (or has Full access to) your property.
  3. Pick the property you want to connect to this project. We support both Domain and URL-prefix properties.
  4. Grant the requested permissions — we only request read access to performance data.

What we read

We read the Search Analytics API only — queries, pages, clicks, impressions, position. We do not write anything to your Search Console, request indexing on your behalf, or read URL Inspection data.

Connecting GA4

Same flow under Integrations → Google Analytics 4. We pull session, conversion, and event data scoped to organic-search traffic so you can see the dollars-per-rank-position math without exporting CSVs.

OAuth fails with "access denied"

Almost always means the Google account you signed in with doesn't have permission on the property you picked. Ask whoever owns the GSC/GA4 property to either grant you Full access or run the connection themselves — we never need their password.

Disconnecting + re-connecting

Disconnect anytime from the same Integrations page. Re-connecting reuses the existing data — your historical rank-to-traffic correlation isn't lost. Tokens are stored encrypted-at-rest and rotated automatically.
