Audit Webpage Meta Tags

Enter any URL above or click a sample page to audit title tags, meta descriptions, Open Graph protocol, and Twitter Cards against 21 technical SEO standards.

Use cases

Bookmark-worthy moments.

Four moments when getting your meta tags right is the cheapest, highest-leverage SEO work on the table.

Generate tags from scratch

Paste the page copy, get a title that fits 60 characters, a description that fits 158, OG and Twitter pairs that pull the right image, and a canonical you'll actually remember to set.

Optimize tags that already exist

Scan a live URL, see exactly which tags are missing, malformed, or over-length. The tool rewrites them to spec while preserving your brand voice — no robotic templating.

Build a complete OG + Twitter pair

OG and Twitter Cards aren't interchangeable. Generate both, with the right image-size variants, the right card type, and the right fallbacks — one click instead of forty.

Preview before you ship

See exactly how your title and description render in Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo SERPs before you push to production. Catch the truncation before the SERP does.

Crash course

What meta tags still matter in 2026.

The four that move rankings, the three that move clicks, and the dozen that don't matter anymore.

Meta tags used to be the entire SEO playbook. In 2026, Google has gotten smarter and most of them are vestigial — Google rewrites your title 60% of the time, ignores meta keywords entirely, and infers most of what it needs from the page itself. But four tags still meaningfully move outcomes: the title (still the strongest in-page signal), the meta description (no direct ranking weight, but it controls your CTR), the canonical (deduplication and equity consolidation), and the language hint (especially for multi-region sites).

Then there are the social tags. Open Graph (Facebook, LinkedIn, iMessage, Slack, most modern messengers) and Twitter Cards (X) both pull preview cards from your meta tags. A great article shared without OG tags looks like a broken link; the same article with proper og:image, og:title, and og:description converts at 3-4× the rate. These tags don't help SEO at all — but they're the difference between a viral share and a dead link.

This tool generates all of the above to spec, character-checks every field against the latest SERP truncation rules, and renders a SERP preview so you can see your tags before the SERP does. It will not generate keyword-stuffed garbage or use any of the deprecated tags you might see in old templates. We refuse to write Author tags too. Sorry.

  • Not as a ranking factor — it hasn't been one since 2009. But Google uses it as the snippet about 30% of the time (the other 70%, it generates one from the page content). A well-written description still controls CTR meaningfully.
